RC Lviv-Ratusha has taken part in the joint Rotarian meeting of District 2230 dedicated to the visit of the President of Rotary International Kalyan Banerjee to Lviv.
The action took place on March 29 in the Assembly Hall of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv where the Rotarians from Lviv, Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine as well as Poland and Bilorus were present.
District Governor 2230 Myroslav Havryliv has mentioned in his greeting speech about the importance of a distinguished guest's visit to our district and also stressed that it is a good sign for the further development of Rotary in Ukraine.
The President of Rotary International Kalyan Banerjee has dwelt upon the increasing role of Rotary in the world in his speech and underlined the main gains in overcoming illiteracy and struggle with poliomyelitis in the global society.
On finishing the speech the distinguished guest awarded the Rotarians with Paul Harris distinction, there were two representatives of our club among them: Ella Tymchak and Yuriy Malyuk.
It should be mentioned that this is the fourth distinction of the Rotarians of RC Lviv-Ratusha, all of them are connected with matching grants realized by the club.
The President of RI also presented a Charter to a newly –created RC Lviv-Kniazhiy. This is the sixth club in Lviv which has become the city with the largest number of Rotarians in the District.
